Little Dutches came to us from Whidbey Island. She was very skiddish and nearly impossibly to catch, it took grain and some experience to catch her. We were told that she rode and her only main fault was that you couldn't catch her and she was very shy of people. So we took her home. This little mare who only stands around 13hs but it a double wide old style Haflinger took the trip very well. The ferry was scary but she stood very still while kids and adult gathered around to see the pony in the trailer. She has a heart of gold she really does. Her try is amazing and she is a very quick learner. We took her home stuck her on a Haflinger diet and started working with her right away. She has slowly been learning to trust people and get comfortable with the normal horse things such as being caught, baths, circingles, and clippers. Dutch has a lot of learning to do but she is a true Haflinger and is trying very hard.
She came to us as Dutchess which is what we are calling her but she was called Edda before. I truly believe she has papers out there somewhere, she is a very nice high quality Haflinger. About 13 years ago she would have been a top mare. Were looking for as much information as we can on her so if you recognize her please let us know.

Dutches will be for sale in the future to a kind permanent home. We are going to be teaching her as much as we can and get her confidence in people up so she can be a treasured member of a loving family. Keep an eye on this page to watch her progress and find out when she will be ready to go to a new home.
